Restriction of Hazardous Substances

The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) 2002/95/EC became European Law in February 2003.

The Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations SI No. 2748 was laid before the UK parliament in November 2005. SI No. 341 Waste Management (Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Regulations 2005 transcribes the RoHS Directive for Ireland.

This Directive prohibits the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of certain substance from from 1 July 2006. RoHS compliant means that where the product falls under the scope of the EU RoHS Directive, this product does not contain the following substances:

in excess of the indicated maximum concentration values by weight in homogenous materials, unless the substance is subject to an exemption specified in the Directive.

Ruckus Wireless, Inc. declares that all its products placed within the European Union (EU) by the Company and any subsidiaries on or after 1 July 2006 are compliant with EU Directive 2002/95/EC on the Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (commonly known as the EU RoHS Directive).
