The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS)
2002/95/EC became European Law in February 2003.
The Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances
in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations SI No. 2748
was laid before the UK parliament in November 2005. SI No. 341
Waste Management (Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances
in Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Regulations 2005 transcribes
the RoHS Directive for Ireland.
This Directive prohibits the placing on the EU market of
new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than
agreed levels of certain substance from from 1 July 2006. RoHS
compliant means that where the product falls under the scope
of the EU RoHS Directive, this product does not contain the
following substances:
- Mercury ( Hg ) 0.1%
- Lead ( Pb ) 0.1%
- Cadmium ( Cd ) 0.01%
- Hexavalent Chromium ( Cr+6) 0.1%
- Polybrominated Biphenyls ( PBB ) 0.1%
- Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers ( PBDE ) 0.1%
in excess of the indicated maximum concentration values by
weight in homogenous materials, unless the substance is subject
to an exemption specified in the Directive.
Ruckus Wireless, Inc. declares that all its products placed
within the European Union (EU) by the Company and any subsidiaries
on or after 1 July 2006 are compliant with EU Directive 2002/95/EC
on the Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical
and Electronic Equipment (commonly known as the EU RoHS Directive).
