Patented BeamFlex™ Technology Extends Signal Range, Improves Stability of Client Connections
The ZoneFlex 7962 Smart Wi-Fi access point integrates a software-controlled smart antenna array that delivers 7dBi of signal gain and 15dB of interference rejection. This allows a 2 to 4x improvement in signal range and a reduction in packet loss from the ability to automatically avoid interference and obstacles.

Advanced WLAN Applications with Smart/OS
When used with the Ruckus ZoneDirector Smart WLAN controller, the ZoneFlex 7962 supports a wide range of value-added applications such as guest networking, Smart Wireless Meshing, Dynamic PSK, hotspot authentication, wireless intrusion detection and many more. With Smart/OS, up to 32 discrete WLANs can be created and mapped to the same or different APs or VLANs. WLANs can also be grouped and shared by specifi c APs. In a centrally managed confi guration, the ZoneFlex 7962 works with a wide range of authentication servers including Microsoft’s Active Directory, LDAP, and RADIUS.

Flexible Deployment Options
ZoneFlex 7962 APs can be deployed in as a standalone AP or as part of a centrally managed wireless LAN using ZoneDirector Smart WLAN controllers. ZoneFlex 7962’s can be deployed across any L2/L3 network and/or meshed without Ethernet cabling. When used with the ZoneDirector, the ZoneFlex 7962 is automatically confi gured through the network making deployment quick and easy.

Complete Local and Remote Management
The ZoneFlex 7962 can be managed as a standalone AP through a Web-based GUI, using SNMP or through the Ruckus FlexMaster Wi-Fi remote management system. Local management can also be performed using the ZoneDirector Smart WLAN controller. FlexMaster is a LINUXbased software platform that uses industry-standard protocols to perform bulk confi guration, fault detection, monitoring and a wide range of troubleshooting capabilities over a wire area connection. The ZoneDirector enables local management and control of APs, adding value-added services such as transmit power and channel management, guest networking and meshing.

Flexibility:

In a centrally-managed WLAN configuration with the ZoneDirector Smart WLAN controller, all 802.11n is sent directly to its destination and not required to pass through the controller. This eliminates performance bottlenecks and single points of failure.

The ZoneFlex 7962 uniquely supports Ruckus Smart Mesh Networking technology. This enables enterprises to easily extend Wi-Fi services to locations where cabling Ethernet is cost prohibitive or impossible. Smart Mesh Networking is self-organizing and self-healing, allowing administrators to plug ZoneFlex 7962 APs into PoE injectors, then walk away.

Up to 16 discrete SSIDs can be configured within each Ruckus ZoneFlex 7962, each with unique broadcast, QoS, security and management parameters assigned. SSIDs can be mapped to different APs or VLANs. SSIDs can also be grouped and shared by specific APs.

Multimedia:

The ZoneFlex 7962 provide unique support for isochronous, delay-sensitive traffic such as IP-based streaming video (IPTV) and voice over IP. By effectively eliminating packet loss, the ZoneFlex 7962 delivers picture-perfect video to IP-capable devices while supporting high-performance, high-density data requirements.

Security Used with ZoneDirector, ZoneFlex 2741 provides first-of-its-kind automatic user security enforcement. With Ruckus Dynamic PSK™, new users simply plug their computers into the LAN, then specify a URL that directs them to a captive portal for a one-time authentication. Then, ZoneDirector automatically configures the user's system with the designated SSID and a unique, dynamically-generated encryption key.

High Performance WLAN Extension
When used with the ZoneDirector Smart WLAN controller, the Ruckus ZoneFlex 7962 allows for simple and easy WLAN extension through the use of Smart Mesh Networking. Once enabled, ZoneFlex 7962s need only a power source to provide high-speed wireless connectivity.

Concurrent IP Video (IPTV) And Data
